Privacy Policy

Match My Vibe is an AI voice experience that mirrors your energy. We built it to be fun, not to collect your data. This policy explains what happens with your information when you use the app.
1. What We Collect
Match My Vibe does not require account registration, login, or any personal information to use. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information.
The only data captured during use is voice audio, which is recorded temporarily in your browser for real-time processing. This audio is never stored on our servers.
In short: No accounts. No PII. No payment data. Your voice audio stays temporary and is processed in real time.
2. How Voice Data Is Processed
When you speak, the following happens:
- Client-side capture: Your browser's microphone captures audio locally. Audio processing (gain, filtering) happens entirely in the browser.
- Speech recognition: Your speech is transcribed using the Web Speech API, a browser-native feature. In Chrome, audio may be sent to Google servers for transcription.
- Voice cloning: Audio clips are sent to Cartesia AI via our AWS Lambda proxy to generate a voice embedding — a compact numerical representation (192 floating-point numbers) of your voice characteristics.
- Text-to-speech: When the AI responds, text is sent to Cartesia AI to synthesize speech using your cloned voice profile.
- Chat: Conversation text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API via our AWS Lambda proxy for generating responses.
Audio clips sent to Cartesia are used only to generate the voice embedding and are not retained by our systems. Refer to Cartesia's privacy policy for their data handling practices.
3. Third-Party Services
Match My Vibe relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Cartesia AI — Voice cloning and text-to-speech synthesis. Audio is sent for embedding generation and speech output.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI chat responses. Conversation text is sent for response generation.
- ElevenLabs — Conversational AI used for the initial voice interaction.
- Google (Chrome Web Speech API) — Browser-native speech recognition. In Chrome, audio may be processed on Google servers.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Hosting infrastructure (CloudFront CDN, S3 static hosting, Lambda functions, API Gateway). All API calls to third-party AI services are proxied through AWS Lambda.
4. Local Storage
Voice embeddings (the numerical representation of your voice) can optionally be saved to your browser's localStorage. This data:
- Exists only on your device
- Is never transmitted to our servers for storage
- Can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser data or using the app's controls
- Contains no personally identifiable information — only 192 numerical values representing voice characteristics
No cookies are used by Match My Vibe beyond browser defaults.
5. Data Retention
We do not store your voice audio, transcripts, or conversation content on our servers.
- Voice audio: Exists only in browser memory during your session. Discarded when you leave.
- Voice embeddings: Stored in localStorage on your device only, if you choose to save them.
- Conversation text: Exists in browser memory during the session. Not persisted server-side.
- AWS Lambda logs: Standard infrastructure logs (request metadata, errors) are retained for 30 days for debugging purposes. These logs do not contain voice audio or conversation content.
6. Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store personal information on our servers, there is generally no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. However, you have the right to:
- Clear locally stored voice embeddings at any time through your browser settings
- Revoke microphone permissions through your browser settings
- Contact us with any questions or concerns about your data
7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. Because Match My Vibe does not collect, sell, or share personal information as defined under the CCPA, most CCPA provisions do not apply. We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Children's Privacy
Match My Vibe is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the data processed through Match My Vibe:
- All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- API calls are proxied through AWS Lambda — third-party API keys are never exposed to the browser
- Audio processing happens client-side to minimize data transmission
- Infrastructure is hosted on AWS with standard security controls
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Match My Vibe after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
